Weekend Re-cap

I had a good weekend. Didn't do much, but enough to make me happy going to sleep last night...

Saturday was spent at a company's do in Marriott, Putrajaya. It started at 9am, but I took my time and had breakfast with MrNordin at San Francisco Coffee. Oooh.. I love their vanilla latte! Had a chat with him, talked about work, gossiped about artistes, talked about the Ah Long story and the TV3 personality who's suing her ex-BF RM5.5m for failing to marry her. Macam2 dunia ni, kan?

Just when the conversation was getting hot, my officemate started calling, wondering where I was since it was already 9.15am. Sigh... kissed MrNordin goodbye and drove off to Putrajaya. MrNordin went to the tyre shop to check his car tyres.

My good friend, MTT, was leaving that night for her second home in Dhaka after a 7-week holiday in KL. She left a text message for all her girlfriends here on her way to the airport and I felt bad not seeing her before she went off. The last time we met was last Tuesday, when we all had dinner at KLCC. Thoughts of her leaving made me feel very sad coz I knew I'd miss her a lot. I cried buckets when I exchanged SMS with her at the last minute. MrNordin said she'll be back in no time, but it's just not the same...

Dinner was nasi kandar at Pelita with the family and out laws (heh.. heh... I mean, the in laws!). All 15 of us. It's quite nice to go out ramai2 like that once in a while, when everybody was so relaxed enjoying the food and each others' company. Our kids looked so happy catching up stories with their cousins (well, they see each other everyday actually, at school, tapi whenever they meet, macam dah sebulan tak jumpa!). Nizzar also was happy playing with his younger cousins, and I was glad seeing him happy like that.

Tapi, this family dinner thingy, boleh buat sekali sekala je sebab kalau selalu sangat, boleh kopak, babe. That night, nasib baik kat Pelita je, bukan hotel Crowne Plaza or Shangri-la. I don't know lah... for some reasons, my husband always ended up paying whenever we go out for family meals like this. Orang lain, cuma cakap terimakasih je. Jarang2 lah nak menghulur, walaupun anak diorang ramai lagi dari anak we all (ehem.. faham2 je lah, kan?)

On our part, whenever we were invited for this kind of function, we'd make sure we offer to pay for our portion because bukan sikit duit nya tu. Tak sampai hati nak let them fork out the bill on their own. But if they insisted it was on them, fine. We'd be grateful. Tapi kalau kita yang ajak, tak pernah pulak they all nak offer..

The truth is, I don't expect you to pay, but at least show some intention to share the bill lah... bak kata orang, it's the thought that counts. Dulu masa mula2 kawin lagi teruk, but sekarang dah kurang sikit. Perhaps they sensed that I wasn't very happy seeing my husband paying for all his extended families' food bill, they've stopped doing that.

Ish... kalau nak blog pasal ni memang panjang nak cerita. Tapi, lain kali je lah, ya? I don't feel like bitching so early this Monday morning. Suffice to say things are so much better now.

I cooked laksa yesterday. Invited N*s and family coz I know my SIL suka laksa. They brought buah pulasan and manggis and drinks. Lots of food on the table! Y*m also came along. Later at night, we all went to Marche for dinner, on MrNordin, again.

Note to my husband: I felt your pain. But once in a while, tak apa lah. We haven't done that in a long time either. It's nice to see you and your brothers bonding happily yesterday. I'm sure that made you happy as well. It was money well spent, I think. So it's ok, darling.

BJ,

I too was sad when I got the sms from MTT. I did not cry. But just the thought of her just gives me good vibes. That's who she is kan?

I had a good weekend too, cos we managed to do a few things in KL cos tak perlu balik kg. The step kids is studying for an exam and away for camping respectively. We needed to finish shopping the kids for raya already cos Ramadhan so close and with hubby away, cannot handle shopping for the kids all by myself.

Its good that u guys managed some quality time.

Aida.

Fatin,

Aiyo... really cheap skate lah your friend tu!

Aida,

She's the person that ties the bind for all of us. That's why whenever she comes home, baru jumpa all of my other friends. Kalau tidak, tak lah jumpa...

So dah habislah raya shopping ni? I thought I've done my raya shopping a long time ago, tapi nearing the time, ada je benda lain nak lebih menarik. Kain ini cantik lah, kain itu lagi elok lah...

That's why dulu2, I always did my shopping 2 days before raya. Then I could rest assure that nothing would make me change my mind! Sekarang ni dah pening nak tukar color code for the dresses!

BJ,

I never bother with getting everyone in matching colours and such cos we cannot seem to agree to one colour a year. So I beli apa i suka and the kids respectively.

And also, when buying for kids, we can never drag the older boy to go shopping with us, esp during Ramadhan, so to save the heartache and nagging, baik beli b4 Ramadhan. And I stick to my tried and true colours. Tak der tukar-2 colour or fashion.

I also get a huge headache when I have to think on an empty tummy and with loud Raya music blasting away. hehehehehe

All I want for Ramadhan is blissful peace and quiet ehehhehe Nothing can change my mind.

Aida.

No plans for now, at the moment, pretty busy with work and home. Maybe a last minute thing, i don't know. They say, if you go to JB, must visit S'pore!!

I saw Mr Nordin kat pasar semalam. Mesti sibuk membeli untuk masak laksa kot? Heheh...
MrsNordin said…
The passports will always be in my handbag, just in case ... :)

But you know, tak bestlah pegi S'pore these days. Things there are so expensive there. The only appealing thing is the murtabak from Arab Street. Other than taht, kat M'sia pun banyak lah!

MrsN, I'm missing you tons too! Missing all my friends in KL but thankful that we had opportunities to meet up.

It was a great 7 weeks holiday back home. You have been very sweet to take time out and spend it with me. It made me feel special indeed. I guess I'm just lucky to have you as my friend. (Aaa..hh..nak mengenang pulak airmata ni! Ish..tak boleh sentimental sikit)

Better stop here before my maids start wondering why their madam is crying in front of the pc.

Tangan yg memberi itu lebih baik dari yg menerima..... and the more you give, the more you'll get back. Don't bet your last dollar it will come back in similar form of worldly fortunes though - maybe in some other aspects of still worldly desires - love, family, children's success, any many more. So long as you sign those bill off with willing hearts ...insyaAllah....

Like you said, it must've been well spent. After all, what is the right price for brotherly bonding eh?

BJ,

I echo what Ibu commented - just halalkan everything, and niat ikhlas. Insya Allah, the returns will be manyfolds :)

Allah SWT akan murahkan rezqi if kita pemurah, insya Allah. ;)

Sleep is eluding me tonite. Might as well menjenguk blog orang.

Hmmm BJ..no need to be so stress out on this matter...buat memening kan kepala, menambahkan kedut dan membanyakkan uban.

Dont worry, I always believe rezeki ada di mana mana. You bagi hari ini, esok lusa you dapat juga rezeki dalam apa bentuk pun.

Eh mana tau...you akan dapat baby lagi..? :)

Anon (not Mimi),

Usually, kalau we all pegi pasar, MrNordin would buy the fish, meat & chicken ration while I'd buy the vegetables. I guess, I must have been at the tempat sayur lah when you spotted him..
MrsNordin said…
MTT,

I pun tak boleh ingat pasal you tau, sure nak mengalir air mata! Hee.. hee... kalau husband pegi outstation pun, tak de lah teruk sangat macam ni!

But like I said, I had a great time too. We shall keep the memories, ok, until the next time we meet. Take care!

Ezza,

Hee... hee... tokeh balak pun boleh terlondeh! Ya betul!!

Ibu,

When we do it, we never expect anything in return. We did it coz we wanted too, when we could afford it. Tapi bila ada orang ambil kesempatan out of this, tu yang I kurang senang hati sikit.

Enough said.
MrsNordin said…
Shana,

Ya lah... hopefully, bila kita susah nanti, ada orang nak tolong. But I doubt it, and if that happened, we'll just try and sort it out ourselves. That's our promise.

Waterlily,

On the baby, I'm holding out until I'm very sure about it. I have some reservations on this, that's why the delay...
J..

you tell yourself it doesn't matter but BORING gak kan????!!! Its never nice to be taken advantage of.

Like lending money - never expectit back so,taklah sakit hati kan?? semuanya - sedekaaaahhhhh...

SW,

We've made it a policy, kalau orang nak pinjam duit, just give the amount which we think we can afford to lose (coz we know we'll never get it back). So, kira macam sedekah lah, like you said. That way, tak ada sakit hati.

Why ah, orang kalau nak pinjam duit, dan dan tu nak duitnya dari kita. Tapi masa nak bayar balik, it takes sooooooo long for them to pay back.
