Snippets of SP
For some strange reasons, I miss Sg. Petani. Is it because of the warm people or is it because of its serenity? Is it because of the good food or is it because of the picturesque beauty? Or is it because I miss that girl with the curly hair and sweet smile?
Late yesterday evening, Nadira waved us goodbye from the door of her new flat at AIMST. She looked happy and I was glad she has finally settled down at the new place.
I was doing pretty well when I left her at the door, but the moment I walked away, right on the 3rd floor of the 5-storey apartment, I broke down and cry. My husband held me in his arms and told me not to cry. He held my hand tightly as we walked down to the car.
Tears were streaming down my cheeks uncontrollably as I thought of the good times we've had together, laughing and doing many silly things at home. Ahh… goodbye is such a hard thing to do! I’m never good at it.
So goodbye Nadira, you shall be missed by everyone at home. Take care of yourself and here’s hoping you’ll have the best of times with your new friends and place. Kalau makan banana leaf rice, ingat we all kat sini, ok?
Cheers!

Its the cycle of life.

Here is an Indian saying by a mother about a daughter:
If you love them, set them free.
Didn't you?
Jim
No wonder the long silence, I guess as much you much have been busy preparing for Nadira. Good for her. Teringat masa tinggalkan Dini at MTS. She just 13 and so fragile. But through time, I am sure they will enjoy themselves, just like us. It will surely be the best part of their lives. This is the time when we truly appreciate when they were around. She will be back soon,
You will get use to it, as much as she will get use to it too. It will be a bit spiky. Now miss, later dah ok, then balik rumah for semester break, again the missing feeling and homesick come back.
I am sure she will be fine. She will be enjoy AIMST and SP, definitely.
U write very well. Am a fan of yr blog. Dun worry, Nadira will be fine there as she gets along. Reminds me of my daughter when i left her at MRSM. She is just 13 then. I hide my tears but i could not stand anymore once i got into the car. Seolah2 takkan jumpa lagi. At first she is very homesick and keep asking me to take her back. Tak nak stay in hostel.I told her that this is for her future and i travel every weekend to visit her to ease her homesick. Now and today, she is doing well in her South Australian Matrics (SAM) at Taylor's University College majoring in medicine. As a mom we 've to let go fo betterment..........
take time to let go..
Nadira will be fine overthere insyallah :)
I ikut Desert Rose lah pi AIMST heheheheh.
Sebak pulak bila baca post you ni as I can feel you. Nadira will be fine.
This ain't sayounara, but mattane or 'see ya later'...:)
Now I know why God didn't let her have the overseas scholarship! Agaknya kalau dia dapat gi overseas, you demam sebulan? hehehe...
SP tu bukan jauh mana pun. She'll be home for long weekends, and also for raya. Tambah2 sekrg ni ada handphone, boleh sms and call any time. Alamak, Mr Nordin, watch out for the phone bill!
Kalau nk fly balik pun senang kot?
Dok miss Nadira tu, jgn lupa "anak bujang" dan ultraman you kat rumah tu... *smile*
It just came naturally, I guess. She was a permanent feature at home for the last 7 months and we did quite a lot of things together. I guess that's why I miss so much.
So you are cousins with Lyana, ya? You both must share the same traits ~ friendly and warm.
Sure, pay her a visit when you balik kampung. I'm sure she'll appreciate it. Yes, she'll be fine there... I know.
Thanks and hope to see you pulak soon!
Now I know how my mum must have felt when she left me at D1-8 last time!
Once again, thanks for the offer. I'm quite relieved to know that at least you are there in case of emergency ke apa.
On the way back, I was thinking, isn't it wonderful, this blog thing? I met you, someone who I never knew before, in Sg Petani, and along with that, ramai lagi kawan2 baru who hail from Sg Petani. Two years ago, I don't think I could name anyone who come from SP and now I do! Cool!
Whenever you are in KL, give me a buzz, ok? I'd love to see you again. Take care and thanks again.
True, now I know how my mum must have felt when she left me in STF last time. Masa tu lagi horror! I was only 13! Dah lah there was no handphone and the distance that time was so far (mana ada highway, kan?).. geez... she must be very strong.
Yes, we did. It's for her own good. She'll enjoy her univ life, I'm sure of that. Thanks!
You pun orang SP? Ramai sungguh orang Kedah kat sini, no...
Yes, I think SP is a nice town. Not too big and not too small. It's so different now compared to 20-30 years ago when I used to go there to visit my uncle who was studying at SM Sains and another one, whose family lived in the military camp.
And yes, the food is good and baju so cheap!!
On the way back, I was telling Nordin, "At least Nadira ni tak de lah teruk sangat... she left when she's 18 and SP is just a 4-hour drive. Dada lagi kesian, hantar Dini ke Kelantan when she was only 13! So young and so kesian!!"
I thought about you and Dini throughout the journey back. If you could do it, I'm sure we can too.
See you soon!
Yes, I think she'll enjoy both AIMST and SP. I tengok kawan2 dia pun ok...
She was so excited to go. Maklumlah dah 7 bulan duduk rumah tak buat apa2. Right now is their orientation week, next Monday baru class starts.
Take care & see you again soon!
I'm sure you must be torn when you left her there. On top of that, she was miserable being away from home, lagi lah you risau.
But it's good that you encouraged her to stay on and didn't give up. Tengok now, dah senang. She'll appreciate the experience, I'm sure of that, and will be thankful to you for sending her there.
Stay in touch!
You hantar anak2 you semua pegi boarding schools. Jauh2 pulak tu! I don't know how you do it but I guess you must be very strong to let go of your eldest two.
Sigh... inilah dilemma ibu dan anak, ya? Btw, how's the baby boy doing? Dah pandai buat apa?
Sure! Go and see her with DR! You should visit the campus, it's really nice!
Yes, she'll be fine. We're adjusting to the changes, that's all. Thanks again for your kind concern.
Kalau dia dapat pegi overseas, tak tahulah macamana, kan? That's why Tuhan tu pandai merancang.
She texted us last night and she sounded fine. Said she's been indulging in indian food at the campus, which she likes.
The two boys at home are adjusting to life without their sisters. Last night, they were quarreling over which toys belong to who. The little boy was being difficult, the big brother was not giving in. Last-last nangis!
Hee... hee... quite funny!
u r right. Kadang2 kita tak tau apa yg Allah dah rancangkan utk kita, and turns out itu yg d best, remember we were sayaing it was a blessing in disguise???
Allah dah temukan kita thru this cyber world, u get to know my cousin and all, n now I am 100 percent sure she is in gud hand. U can count on my cousin (hg jgn nak perasan lebey ar Lyana, dok diam2) I mean If Nadira were sent somewhere yg u tak sape pun kenal, jauh pulak lagi, u 'll be worried sick jugak kan.Alhamdullilah.
Anyway, bila i nak balik kg je, or when mmy parents come to visit me (which they often do) u can always kirim anything for her, will be hand delivered safe n sound. My despatch like almost everyday turun KL, can always ask him to drop by ur office k.Jgn segan2.
You are so kind! Orang Kedah ni baik2 belaka lah (so far that I know of lah....).
I'll keep you in mind. Yes, I think there is a blessing in disguise.... *wink*
I felt the same when my daughter went abroad to do her medicine. That was the first time in our lives we were separated. It will be hard initially but you will get used to it. Hang in there! You can visit her anytime you want.I am sure she will be fine. Take care.
Yes, I'm sure she will be fine. As much as we miss her, I'm sure she misses everyone at home too. It's just a matter of getting used to...
Thanks and have a nice day.
Anyway, have one on me Momma.. you've done well to hv come this far.. Cheers!
We all have gone through it at one time or another, and we did just fine. I'm sure she'll be fine too, insyaallah.
Thanks for your kind words.
Yes, actually I was quite busy rushing to finish something at that time, but it's alright.
Actually, I'm a bit hesitant to watch Jamal now because of his "fake" hair. It's just not the same lah... I think he looks a bit weird with that hair, and that's why I'm taking my time buying the tickets.
If you are sure about going, why don't you book your ticket first, takut nanti habis pulak. Give me until next week to decide, ok?
Have a nice weekend!
I ni dok baca ur blog selalu tapi only once in a while tinggalkan message.
I'm staying in SP and I was so happy to know that ur girl is in AIMSTs.. I'm with UiTM and resides in BLM near rumah Lyana.. should you need help just let me know k.. iklas ni.. memang kita tak pernah kenal, apatah lagi nak jumpa, but just let me know should ur girl need help.

psst psst: hari tu datang SP sempat tak merasa durian kampung??
Like some others said, cycle of life. And now it's time for her to spread her own wings.
All the best to both Mommy & Nadira.
p/s Next time pi SP, jgn lupa singgah Tesco naaaaa?
Thank you so much for your kind offer. Will keep you in mind, sure.
I was telling my husband, "Ramai pulak orang SP offer nak tengok2kan Nadira. How wonderful..." He's thankful as well for your kind gestures.
Hari tu pegi SP, tak sempat makan durian altho' I saw a lot were being sold by the roadsides. Anyway, my mum did give us some when we stopped by in Ipoh en route to SP that day. Sedap!!!
Take care and have a nice day.
I think you are right. Kids are better at separation than us. When we spoke to her the other day, she seemed happy je. Hari2 makan Indian food, which she loves. Yang I kat sini, nak buat apa pun asyik teringat kat dia. Empty nest syndrome..
We all dah pi lah Tesco tu... went there to get some more stuff for her before we left for KL. Not bad jugak, tak lah seramai orang kat Tesco Ampang ni!
You know how I feel? Yeah... anak you pegi boarding school lagi kecik dari Nadira kan, lagi kesian kat you. It's for their own good, so it's alright.
Take care, dear!
Yes, that's something which I have to do soon!
that's it. Not letting my daughter leave my ketiak
I hate goodbyes too.
